Austin Addison is a New Orleans–based marketing and communications professional, recovery advocate, suicide attempt survivor, and storyteller dedicated to helping others find meaning through honesty and connection. After overcoming addiction (one day at a time) and navigating life with bipolar disorder, Austin rebuilt his life around purpose, creativity, and service.

His journey — featured by NewYork-Presbyterian’s Health Matters and New Orlean’s local WWLTV— highlights the transformative power of vulnerability and community in healing.

Today, Austin uses his voice and creative background to share real stories about mental health, recovery, and resilience, reminding others that healing is not linear, but it is possible. Grounded in Southern grace and human truth, Austin brings compassion, creativity, and courage to everything he does.

In 2025, Austin Addison’s recovery journey was featured by NewYork-Presbyterian’s Health Matters in the article, “Reaching the Other Side of Darkness: Building a Beautiful Life in Recovery.”

The feature chronicles Austin’s path from addiction, bipolar disorder, and a near-fatal suicide attempt to the life of purpose, stability, and advocacy he lives today.

Through treatment at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center and 3+ years of continued recovery work, Austin transformed his experience into a platform for connection and change — using storytelling, creativity, and compassion to inspire others on their own paths to healing.
